Introducing Saffron – and her To Do List with a Twist

A new face at Boo! Saffron is joining us on a six-month placement and we are looking forward to helping her follow a path that feels rights for her.

Saffron is from Darwin but has been living in Bolton for just over four years, having completed a degree in Game Design at Bolton University.

“I was on universal credit and had a job coach who would give me job listings for things I might be interested in. I was looking at IT/admin type roles initially. Eventually my job coach introduced me to the Kickstart Scheme (you can find out about that here). I saw the opportunity from Boo and thought that one looked cool.

What drew me to it was being able to make up wellbeing packages for people – it’s a really nice touch and not a lot of places do that. That kind of stuff helps people remember who you are, and that’s what caught my interest.

I’ve just had a buy a dress for my very first awards ceremony!”

Saffron landed on 1st September and has already come up with her first idea to enhance wellbeing. After learning about our ‘Properly Selfish’ session (part of our Caring for Yourself programme) she drew out a to-do list with two sides. One the left is the stuff you have to do, and on the right is something lovely to do for yourself to balance it out!

“I doodled it and Becci really liked my idea and gave it to the designer. I was really shocked as I wasn’t expecting that! I felt really warm inside that my idea was taken on board and made into something ‘official’ so quickly after me joining!”
