Learning at Work Week: Supporting Our CMI Coaching & Mentoring Learners
How coaching and mentoring qualifications are creating confident leaders, stronger teams, and positive workplace cultures.
Chartered Management Institute (CMI) Coaching and Mentoring Qualifications help professionals build confidence, strengthen communication skills, and create more supportive workplace cultures. During Learning at Work Week, it’s a great opportunity to recognise the impact these qualifications have on individuals, teams, and organisations, as well as the commitment learners show while balancing study alongside work and personal life.
Learning Happens Every Day
Learning at Work Week is a valuable reminder that learning doesn’t only happen in formal training sessions or classrooms. In reality, some of the most meaningful learning takes place through everyday experiences at work — through coaching conversations, problem-solving, mentoring, collaboration, reflection, and supporting others.
For learners completing their Chartered Management Institute (CMI) Coaching and Mentoring qualifications, this week is an opportunity to recognise the commitment involved in balancing professional development alongside busy working and personal lives.
At Boo Coaching & Consulting, we see first-hand the impact these qualifications have — not only on individual learners, but across teams and organisations too.
This year has already been a significant one for Boo, with the team recently unveiled as finalists for CMI Training Provider of the Year — recognition that reflects the supportive learning environment, learner experience, and real-world impact at the heart of our programmes.
Supporting Learners Throughout Their Journey
Studying alongside work and personal commitments can feel challenging at times, which is why creating a supportive and approachable learning experience is so important.
At Boo, learners are supported through:
- Regular 1:1 support sessions
- Small group workshops and discussions
- Friendly and approachable facilitators
- Experienced trainers with practical industry knowledge
- Qualified coaches and mentors who understand the realities of the role
Because our facilitators and coaches have worked extensively within coaching, mentoring, and leadership environments themselves, they’re able to bring learning to life with practical examples, relatable discussions, and genuine understanding.
That supportive environment is something learners consistently value. Feedback from our 2025 CMI learners highlighted the importance of the “safe and supportive environment”, opportunities for interaction, and learning alongside like-minded people.
More Than Just a Qualification
Coaching and mentoring qualifications are about far more than completing assignments or gaining certificates.
They help learners develop skills that improve workplace communication, build confidence, encourage accountability, and support others to grow.
Many learners are already using these approaches every day — often without even realising it — whether that’s supporting colleagues through challenges, helping new team members settle into their roles, or encouraging others to think differently and find their own solutions.
One learner shared how they had already started applying coaching techniques within their workplace:
“I have already started implementing using the style with my student nurses… the students have all said they like the way it makes them think rather than just asking questions and getting answers.”
Another reflected on how coaching approaches had positively influenced their leadership style:
“I feel I have utilised a coaching approach in my day-to-day work which has helped me create boundaries with my team putting accountability on them.”
These examples demonstrate how coaching and mentoring skills quickly transfer into real workplace impact.
Building Confidence Through Learning
One of the most rewarding aspects of delivering coaching and mentoring programmes is seeing learners grow in confidence throughout their journey.
Many learners begin unsure of themselves or uncertain about their abilities, but gradually develop the confidence to lead conversations, support others, and recognise the value they bring.
Learner feedback regularly highlights the positive impact of the support and learning experience provided throughout the programme:
“Thank you so much for all your support and encouragement throughout this journey… the whole of Team Boo are amazing!”
“The sessions were well run, and a good balance between self-led, group and taught sessions.”
“I’ve enjoyed the workshop days and the skills I gained and the skills I didn’t know I had.”
These moments of increased confidence and self-belief are often where the greatest transformation happens.
Celebrating Progress and Achievement
Learning at Work Week is also a reminder to celebrate progress at every stage of the learning journey — not just the final qualification.
Completing assignments, leading successful coaching conversations, speaking up with confidence, or simply continuing to learn during busy periods are all achievements worth recognising.
The impact of this commitment can already be seen across Boo’s CMI programmes in 2025:
- 64 new learners enrolled across Level 5 and Level 7 programmes
- Over 70 qualifications achieved in 2025
- 100% of learners said they would recommend Boo Coaching & Consulting to a friend or colleague
- Team Boo support rated 4.8/5 by learners
These results reflect not only learner commitment, but also the importance of creating positive learning experiences that genuinely support development.
Creating Positive Workplace Cultures
When organisations create environments where learning feels encouraged and supported, it benefits everyone.
The skills developed through coaching and mentoring qualifications help individuals become better communicators, more supportive colleagues, and more confident leaders. In turn, this contributes to stronger teams, healthier workplace cultures, and more effective organisations.
That’s why Learning at Work Week matters — because it highlights the value of continuous development, supportive conversations, and creating opportunities for people to grow.
A Final Well Done
During Learning at Work Week, we’d like to say a huge well done to all of our CMI Coaching and Mentoring learners.
The commitment, resilience, and effort involved in balancing learning alongside work and everyday life should never be underestimated, and we’re proud to support learners throughout that journey.
Being recognised as finalists for CMI Training Provider of the Year makes this year’s Learning at Work Week feel even more meaningful — because it reflects the achievements, growth, and dedication of our learners as much as our own team.
Keep learning, keep growing, and keep supporting each other along the way.
