A whole year with our brilliant Patti!

Patti shares her thoughts on her first year at Boo…

LinkedIn recently popped up a reminder that it was my one year anniversary at Boo and I couldn’t quite believe it, I had to double check!

I remember distinctly seeing the job advert for a role at Boo pop up and my heart literally jumped! I immediately got in touch with Becci and felt such excitement as she was talking me through the requirements of the role and all the wonderful customers they were working with at the time! As I started getting ready for my assessment, I was pouring into the wellbeing research and feeling so inspired and excited that I knew I really wanted this role! I was ecstatic when I received the news that I’d been offered the job and have been ever since!

So…what are my highlights over the year? Where do I even start!

I think firstly, on a properly selfish level, I have learned so much about myself. At the beginning of my time at Boo, I got to work with Helen on exploring my values and my strengths and we also did this at a team level and what that meant when working together; these were lightbulb moments for me and I love sharing this gift with our customers too!

And on that note, our customers! We’ve been able to deliver true kindness and support to so many, as well as creating calming and beautiful spaces. We are so lucky in that we work with so many caring, passionate and inspiring individuals that I really feel privileged to have met and worked with…even if some of them try and get me in the sea in December!

I’ve loved working for a company that has a genuine passion for helping the local community and I’ve been lucky enough to be able to give my time back in ways that I feel passionate about. Not only have I been able to plant trees (we made a little Boo forest!) I’ve also been able to meet lots of people whilst delivering coffee!

Nature has been a big theme over the year, which again has just made such a difference to my wellbeing, from walking meetings at Haigh Hall, our monthly team days at Brockholes, soaking in the sea air in Guernsey and our retreat to the Lake District, I’ve never felt too far away from my biggest passion, being outdoors!

We’ve also had our share of some fantastic awards nights out, some dinners in beautiful settings and an abundance of team treats!

Not forgetting all of the amazing work that’s been keeping me inspired and busy! Some of my highlights over the year have been:

An abundance of evaluation data to analyse!
Getting to delve into the research and make new webinars and sessions
Learning how to write blogs and getting into social media! I even know how to make a reel now!
Writing impact reports and bringing all that data and feedback into a lovely package
Being on site and supporting wonderful colleagues
Getting to deliver and facilitate wellbeing webinars and sessions and seeing the difference they make to people inside and out of work!
Getting to deliver coaching CPD sessions
Being able to support wonderful local projects, like evaluating the Rock Hall project (which Banana Enterprise are running!) and has made such a difference to the local community

I’ve loved this last year and I’ve loved working with such a supportive, fun and inspiring team of amazing women! Can’t wait for many more! 😊
