It’s Helen’s Work Anniversary!

Helen Smith, fantastic coach and learning facilitator, is celebrating 2 years with Team Boo!

This week marks my 2 year work anniversary with the wonderful world of Boo, so in true Boo style, I thought I would mark the occasion by writing down some of my musings. If I’m honest, it feels like I’ve been here for longer than 2 years – in a good way! Maybe it’s because I have known Becci for longer, or because when I started I pretty much hit the ground running – being away facilitating courses in my 3rd week in the job! (Thanks to Karen for being my wonderful co-facilitator and hotel buddy). I know this job feels like it brings together my skills and experiences into one bundle of usefulness and relevance and that is a happy place to be.

I have learnt so much over the past 2 years and we have achieved so much! There have been challenges along the way – but what has really struck me is the way we have faced them as a team. We are committed to being open, honest, transparent and above all compassionate to each other; living within our values and staying focused on what is true.

As I’m sure many people have found, the last few weeks have had their challenges. There are things I have really missed from our usual Team Boo such as the peaceful sanctuary of our office, our gratitude board full of appreciation for our team and seeing each other for a chat and to bounce around some ideas. However, I believe that the way we connect and behave as a team has made the world of difference and we have applied our working premises to our virtual world and with our customers.

I’ve never had one ultimate career goal, rather a goal of a career that meet a list of criteria that are important to me: to work with people, to do something that makes a difference, to keep learning, to live my values, to be able to be me, and to love my job! I can definitely say that the last 2 years have ticked all of those boxes and many more. Now let’s see what my third year with Team Boo has in store!
