Grow with the Flow…reflections as we head into Autumn from our Happiness and Wellbeing Coach Priya…
Do you notice how you change around the seasons?
The word ‘equinox’ derives from the Latin for equal light and as we approach the Autumn Equinox this is the time of year where we receive equal amount of day and night where it can represent the light and dark that comes into our lives and how we can keep the balance as we transition into a new season.
This got me thinking about balance and the energy we all share with others, during the summer months with long nights and summer connection, we tend to be busier and often use up our energy.
I’m really enjoying writing our Boo blogs around the seasonal equinox and solstice. They are times of year for reflection and transitioning to seasonal change – something I have become accustomed to leaning into.
So how can we now think about finding balance and realignment within different aspects of our lives in the autumnal season?
Over the years I have found that creating small rituals and habits around self-care can be key to creating balance for my wellbeing – it helps me manage stress and handle things (both positive or negative) in a healthy and happier way.
When we take good care of our physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual needs through self-care we can reduce our own emotional stresses. We are spending time getting to know ourselves and grow through the seasons making us better able to handle the challenges life throws at us.
Grow with the Flow of Life
For me this season this year is all about reconnecting with what keeps me nourished through different aspects in my life for example my spiritual practice, movement, and self-care I feel these are my top trumps this season, that I’d like to connect with.
I thought I’d share a few of my small daily rituals which always keep my soul nourished.
These are simple tools (now habits) that work for me…
- Daily breathing and meditation
- Sipping hot lemon and turmeric water
- Getting outdoors in nature
- Rolling out my yoga mat or attending a class
- Listening to my morning mantras
- Lighting my daily divo (candle) and prayer
- Spending time with my children and being present
- Practicing gratitude and saying thank you
- Listening to loud music and dancing or asking the kids to share their favourite songs the list goes on….
These are the little things that can create a big impact on my wellbeing.
Try making your own list of rituals? share them with us here at Boo and we can make a whole list of self-care seasonal rituals together.
Here’s our Autumn Self Care one pager for some tips on self-care this season.
